Tell me about the two of you.

I like to start with the two of you: what brought you to Mérida, what you are picturing, what matters most.

We’ll iron out the details later.

Joe Bolanos Inquiry

Before you write.

Do you only plan weddings in Mérida?

Mérida is home, so it is the place I know best. I also work throughout Yucatán, including haciendas across the state, cenotes, and the Gulf coast.

Can you help us find a venue?

Yes, and it is usually where we start. I will shortlist based on your guests and how you want the day to feel, not on what photographs best, then we see them together when you visit.

We have already found some vendors. Is that a problem?

Not at all. I work with people I know and trust, but I am just as happy coordinating with someone you found yourselves.

Can you coordinate the whole weekend?

That is usually the point. Welcome party, rehearsal dinner, the wedding, farewell brunch, and the things to do in between.

How far in advance should we book?

Twelve to eighteen months is comfortable, especially for November through March. I take up to nine weddings a year, so dates go early, and once you decide I will give you a date to confirm by. A long runway is not essential though. I have planned a wedding in three months. Always ask.

Do you work with couples from outside Mexico?

Most of them. I work in English and Spanish, and I handle the parts that are genuinely hard to do from another country.

What happens after I send this?

I read it myself and reply within a couple of days. If it looks like a fit we will set up a call, just a conversation about the two of you.

Your wedding should feel like you, and like Mérida.

The form is right up there whenever you are ready.
