Get married in Mérida.
I’m Joe, a destination wedding planner based in Mérida. I work closely with each couple, creating thoughtful, beautifully considered celebrations that feel personal from beginning to end.
It starts with getting to know you.

Before we get to flowers, menus, or timelines, I want to learn about you two: how you met, what’s your vibe, what you’d want people to remember about the night.
I’m an independent wedding planner, so you’ll work directly with me from start to finish. I’m on the calls, at the tastings, at the venue on the morning of, and still there at two in the morning when the last of your friends won’t leave the dance floor.
It felt more like working with an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable friend than with a big planning company.

Mérida is a wonderful place to get married.
A colonial city of golden limestone and jacarandas, full of enormous old houses. It is safe, walkable, and welcoming to visitors. Flights from most of the US and Canada are direct, and once your guests land everything is close.
Grand historic haciendas half an hour outside town. Sparkling cenotes and white sand beaches within an hour. The food is delicious and the city stays out late.

Getting here
Most guests fly direct from the US or Canada, then it is a short ride (15 minutes) into town. Many guests make a vacation of the trip and explore Yucatán.
Climate
Typical wedding season in Mérida is between November and April. Sunny, dry, and warm with temperatures from 65-85° Fahrenheit. During summer it gets hotter and rains in the afternoon.
Safety
Mérida is widely considered the safest city in Mexico and one of the safest in the entire Western Hemisphere, backed by a Level 1 (Exercise Normal Precautions) advisory from the U.S. State Department for the state of Yucatán.
Culture
Mérida has a culture that feels both deeply historic and very much alive. Colonial streets, centuries-old traditions, live music in the plazas, and a warmth to the city that goes beyond the sunny weather and habanero salsa.
The food scene
Yucatecan cuisine is one of Mexico’s great culinary traditions, rooted in a rich Mayan cultural heritage. Mérida also punches far above its weight with a growing scene of stylish restaurants, lively cantinas, and cocktail bars.
More than one day
Most couples I work with end up planning a whole weekend, not just one night. We can plan it your way: welcome drinks, a day-after party, or even a group excursion.
It starts with a conversation.
We talk first. Then you come to Mérida for a few days to see and taste everything before you commit to anything. After that, we meet regularly, collaborating to finalize every detail for your big day.
Don’t just take it from me.
